Waffle Towel made in Turkey

Large in size and very thick. After washing this towel it shrunk up to half the size and far to thick to be affective. I hade to rewash and stretch back to size and hang to dry. There wasn't instructions regarding this. I have other, made in Turkey waffle towels so am familiar with how they wash.
